Assuming you were a billionaire and wanted to make a philanthropic donation to the city. You can choose more than one option or create your own.

I would devote $90million to tearing down abandoned buildings and divide the rest between police, EMT,and schools. Forget the fire department; they ought to let these abandoned buildings burn to the ground instead of putting them out early and leaving a half-burnt structure.

$100 Million Dollars wouldn't do anything for Detroit.

That would be just enough to balance the budget maybe once, without making any additional cuts.

Billions of dollars would be needed to fix Detroit, along with a change in socio-economic dynamics in this state.

No, I'd take it where I think it would be much more appreciated.

Probably to some state in the northeast. At least I know it'll be well spent.

I would demand it be invested in industry and creating employment.
PArt of it would have to be used as scholarships to schools based in the city. Could be used at Wayne County, Wayne State, etc..

A $100 million dollar intergalactic spaceport would probably be the most ghetto space age establishment outside of Soviet Russia. Seems fitting for Detroit.

Yeah, maybe you could donate it to a wealthy subdivision in Massachusetts and they could use it to pay their property taxes for a year.

Well, I had to include something for those that think there aren't enough transportation options in Detroit.

I would use the money to rebrand and market a more positive image for Detroit. Those ads from Chrysler were POWERFUL....let me tell you. I live in Minnesota and after the super bowl everyone was telling me about how touched they were by that commercial and how they are pulling for Detroit. Some even showed interest in visiting the city and asked me where they should stay if they visit.

I do not know what kind of tourist dollars Detroit generates compared to other big cities, but I am sure Detroit is really low on that list. There needs to be a Pure Detroit ad campaign to rival the Pure Michigan ads.

I also think that the big three should recognize that the image of the city impacts their image... and chrysler has. Chrysler sales and market share has shot up since their "imported from Detroit" ad campaign. The auto big three's image will improve if the cities image improves. Its a symbiotic image relationship

Detroit has MAJOR problems, but I truly believe those problems can be reversed by more positive reinforcement to negate all the negative rienforcement. Detroit needs a top notch marketing agency, to market its cultural institutions, casino's, riverfront, greek town, Cork town and its nice neighborhoods.

I would tear down all those abondoned properties that one sees from 94 when coming from the airport to downtown. I would focus on attracting people to downtown and generating tourist dollars. Increase the number of conventions that the city can handle by expanding COBO or creating a new state of the art facility.

Detroit needs to get outside money into the city to generate revenue, because the people who live in the city don't make enough money to support the government. All the major big cities generate a good deal of tourist dollars into their economy. Thats what Detroit needs and thats what has the quickest chance at a turn around.

I would focus on programs to help kids get a good education, whether that is tutoring, mentoring, school lunch, after school programs, whatever it takes to get kids the education they need to find a good job.
