When it comes to doing Detroit proud, Kid Rock hits all cylinders with his song "Times Like These."

Some days, driving north or south on Woodward, I get a bit choked up when I hear him sing: "I heard them say they're shuttin' Detroit down. But I won't leave cuz' this is my hometown."

I'm sure the irony is lost to a Robert Ritchie fan.

Capitalism ROCKS...Taking a page from Wally World--Sell cheap crap to the home town crowd and send the money out of state...

IN the infamous words of Kid Rock---(paraphrased)

So I came home, home to Detroit City
And there she was sittin' on my porch--your money looked so pretty

is anybody really surprised since Kid Rock is NOT from Detroit himself, I mean come on he's from Farmington. I'd be willing to bet he didn't spend much time in the city limits growing. No surprise here

Kid Rock's response, on his website. I agree with him. Made In Detroit puts a lot of money in local pockets and shows off a Detroit pride that's in short supply.

Don't click on it if you're offended by foul language.

I suppose it is like the Big 3 saying made in Detroit when it isn't (is there a car still made in Detroit city limits)nor do they use a majority USA parts. Its all good liker McNuggets--Parts are parts.

Because is can be very difficult to even find quality and affordable USA made products, because the (and I add this as reading between the lines) AMERICANS have shoddy work etics and the UNIONS drive up cost?

I always thought the slogan was referring to himself (and his talent) rather than the clothing.

Kid Rock is practicing one of the Detroit Hustles I've cited in the past.

It rhymes with the counterfeit 14K chain hustle/white van speaker hustle.

Even George W. Bush has used this one. "Late in January 2003, George W. Bush celebrated the winter season by performing a snow job on the American people. As millions of Americans saw it on their television sets, Bush stood in a factory warehouse in St. Louis, surrounded by shelves full of boxes stamped "Made In U.S.A.".....

After Bush gave his speech, a curious reporter wondered why there was extra tape around the areas that were stamped "Made in U.S.A." and peeled the tape back to see what lay beneath. The reporter found the words "Made in China". "

It's fraud. Might as well remove the labels from Kmart TV's and put Made in Motown labels on those.

I never interpreted "Made In Detroit" to mean that the shirts were literally made in Detroit. Maybe that's just me. Wearing that gear is a fashion statement, not a political one.
