Help Me w/ My Detroit TV Memory
I grew up in Michigan and am having a heck of a time remembering a local TV show that was on either late Friday or Saturday night in the 70's. They would show a movie and during commercial time, these strange characters would host. The man wore a wig, maybe another character dropped out of the ceiling. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Remember Bill Kennedy? I remember one day watching him with my Grandma, he hung up on a caller. He was a hoot.

You're thinking of "The Ghoul", starring Ron Sweed
Ron Sweed - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I think it was "froggy" who fell out of the cieling. The show was totally anti-establishment; a bridge between hippie and punk ethos. Kind of like a proto-Howard Stern.
There was a news/public affairs show that came on right before the Ghoul. That host was kind of like a Bill Bonds or Lou Dobbs guy. (Ugh, the name escapes me). Anyway, the Ghoul had ceramic "heads" of this guy and would blow them up with firecrackers, then show some more B (or less) horror movies.

That is exactly the one...I can't thank you enough...I'm pretty good researching things, but this one show...couldn't remember it for the life of me.

Saw Ron Sweed a few years ago at a B. Daltons autographing his book.

For vintage Detroit television, you'll want to check out:
Keith Milford's Vintage Detroit TV and Movie Board - Message Board - ezboard.com
You were lucky to see Detroit television at that time. There's nothing like the range of local television shows presented back then today. George Pierrot, Bill Kennedy, Lou Gordon, the Ghoul, Sir Graves, Tiger Broadcasts with George Kell and Larry Osterman from Tiger Stadium--"Hello Larry and welcome to another afternoon of Tiger Baseball", Rita Bell, Sonny Elliot, Milky the Clown, etc...

Do any of you remember Kelly and Company? Or there was a husband and wife news-ish team that had a show on in the afternoon called [maybe!] Good Afternoon Detroit in the early 80s? The wife's name was Marilyn, I think. Diana Lewis is still on and still beautiful!

Yeah, Rita Bell's Prize Movie, with the big rotary phone dial in the background. I seem to remember a lot of Godzilla movies in the afternoons too....And Sergeant Sacto? Wasn't that Tom Ryan? He must have been about 20 years old then.

I think both those shows were the same people Marilyn Turner and her husband John Kelly
I can't get the local Armor Guard commercial out of my mind: "Hey man, I get the DOG!"

Yeah, the tag line to that one was: ".......and they can not fly EIIIIITHHHHHERRRRR"
Didn't 'ole Mel Farr Ford go bankrupt?
Or the east side Oldsmobile dealer...forgot who it was...it wasn't Woodrow W. Woodie...but it was an old guy, dressed up like Patton in the turret of an M-4 Sherman tank driving over a Toyota saying: "Tanks, but no tanks to imports!"
