List of Detroit Subrubs
Does anyone have, or can anyone find a list of all of the cities in the Detroit metro area?
I wanted to take a list and identify the ones I know about and learn about the others. (Maybe I will write a book someday). However I cannot find a complete list online. I would like to include as far north as Romeo, as far West as Brighton and Chelsea and as far south as Monroe. Basically anywhere within a remotely reasonable commute of Detroit.
If anyone has a can find a reasoable complete list it woudl be helpful. Otherwise I can just sit down with a map in hand and start mistyping the names of all the cities.

A good place to start might be going onto the wikipedia articles for Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties and copying their lists of cities and towns. You could do that with the other counties you consider in the Detroit metro as well, or draw a circle around Detroit and compare the map with the county city lists if you think the Detroit metro cuts through specific counties.
If you go by SEMCOG (which seems to resemble the CSA), the member list includes most of metro Detroit with the exception of a few. But you'll be able to easily pick them out in the map on the top of the page.

THanks. When I did that, I got a picture of the words, not text. I looked for a way to convert it to text and found nothing. Now I can start my project. I want to learn at least a little about every city and town in the area. No particularlr reason, I just like to do that. Maybe I will make a book. If I do, I wll give you an acknowledgement. I am surprised, there are towns in Oakland and Wayne Counties that I have never even heard of. I guess I will start with those.

I also will not include St. Clair county since I have never heard of the county, nor any of the listed Cities. Is that where China is? We looked at a house (online) in China. It was an absolutely amazing house, but the place was too far away and the schools were sub-awful in the ratings.

No problem. Maybe your computer is a little different. St. Clair county is right above Macomb county and right next to Lapeer county. Take I-94 north far enough past Macomb county and you will run right into it. Port Huron is in St. Clair county and is at the southern tip of Lake Huron.
Metro Detroit is a really big place and it seems like different websites have different definitions of it. I can't find a complete list of every single city.
I'll admit to chuckling when someone says they came from from Richmond, Memphis or China at a meeting in Detroit - and everyone presumes they flew in (as opposed to all being less than an hr commute to downtown). Esoteric small town humor...

I jsut discovered that my secretary lives in St. Clair County.
In my defense she has only been my secretary for a few days.
