Default Hotels in (or around) Warren

Hello! We are planning a trip to Michigan for Labor Day. My husband's family lives in Warren and we'll be visiting them. We've been there a couple of times a few years ago but that was before my children were born....
That's my problem. Since my kids have come along (3 year old son and 1 year old daughter) I've become a paranoid overcautious mom. I never used to care where we stayed before but now I'm nervous about booking a hotel room without knowing about the neighborhood.

Help?! I need a reasonably priced hotel in a nice neighborhood.

Thanks so much!

Check out the Best Western Plus Sterling Inn (34911 VanDyke) just south of 15 mile. It's a mile or two north of Warren - but is a very reasonably priced facility, complete with a three story water slide, lazy river, free wifi etc. Nothing in Warren (north of 10 Mile) is going to be the least bit unsafe for a hotel stay.

Thank you! That makes me feel much better. We have family members up there saying that everything will be fine but we've also got a crazy uncle saying that we "better be packing heat" wherever we go. Lol.
I just needed some reassurance from someone who's not desperate to see my kids for the first time.

Sounds like someone who knows nothing about Metro Detroit, and if he does, he's just giving you a hard time.

You should be more worried about the person desperate to see them for the last time =)

You'll be fine-your uncle is just using humor as a defense mechanism. What else is he going to tease you about Detroit? It's an easy target - so don't sweat it.

That's what I was going to suggest. Especially since she said she had a young one.
