Still looking but just wondering if anyone on here had any thoughts.
Second and Lothrop would be considered the New Center Area. I loved it over there.

hey, i'm not sure what you mean. are you talking about renting an apartment in an house owned by a person rather than an apartment building managed through a property management company or something like that?

the apartments i looked at are in an apartment building with maybe 16 or 20 units, so it's not a random person renting out their house. i think there is a bit more protection this way cause at least if there are issues that affect the whole building there will be more people complaining.

I'm thinking that might actually work out well for my first year in town. I'm going to want to get to a house sooner than later because i'm moving down from a single dwelling 2 bedroom house to this. I am freaking out about where I am going to put my 2 closets worth of clothes :-(. Or how often I will have to schlep them down to the laundry facilities in the basement. I'm going to need more space for my clothes and shoes, so will need to upgrade!

But the area looked fine to me. At least the Fisher Theatre and New Center Park are there and it's close to Woodward, CVS at the corner. And like you said just 5 minutes to mid and downtown.

And I hope the gym that is one block away becomes my second home.

Moved into FK this week. So far, I'm very happy. Just got to figure out if I can get some basics somewhere in town or if I need to take a trip to the mall next week.

That's great! What kind of basics do you need?

Supernova... How did you like the Fisher Kahn? I'm thinking about getting a unit there. However with the renovations still being done to the center units I wonder about noise and safety.
