Agreed.

Yeah, Fairlane lost Lord and Taylor and it now caters a bit more to the urban crowd, but it is still one of the top 5 malls in Detroit.

Times change and technology progresses. It is what it is.

People no longer need to know how to change their oil or make a fire. But it doesn't make them bad people if they don't know.

As far as your comments about he nails and purses, gender roles are a thing of the past. If a woman wants to wear army boots and cut off her hair and if a man wants to carry a purse and polish his nails, that's their business and I'm in no place to judge them.

Personally, with the exception of Oakland, I wouldn't waste a trip to either of the aforementioned malls, even if I'm only 5-10 miles away from them. Oakland Mall has in fact been my "go to" mall.
Oh damn, for some reason I thought he said Center Line and not New Center lol wow
That just changes my entire post.

But yea I haven't used public transportation anywhere in the past 2 years. since I have a car now I almost completely forgot how to get around the region using PT. I figure either DDOT or SMART should take him there if he goes downtown. There should be some direct transit routes from downtown Detroit. But again, my knowledge of PT is a bit outdated.

I can't even remember what Macomb Mall is like but yes I agree with you about those malls. They remind me of West Michigan's lack luster shopping malls. The difference is those malls are a little more urban like the ones around south Chicago (Evergreen Plaza and Ford City). I guess their appealing to a certain demographics. West Michigan's are just disappointing to everyone lol. But I thought since he/she mentioned Target I remember one being at Eastland (when I thought their location was Center Line instead of New Center).

Yea I see alot more of what you talking about these days also. I didn't realize how bad it was until I went to Atlanta. It's a way of life there lol.

Is still ok, but with Partridge a few miles east is getting some competition. Lakeside still has a good variety of stores but I mostly go by myself, my family prefers Partridge because it has better restaurants, you can just walk to them. In Lakeside when you are done shopping if you want to eat something decent you have to grab your car and go to the restaurants along Hall rd.

Go to Fairlane if you want to get mugged in the parking lot. It hasn't been nice in 20 years.

I'm with you. I love Twelve Oaks. You may want to avoid it on the weekends.
I save money at the mall by buying discount gift cards online using moblie app coupons then going to the stores with the sales.

Example- I really like Express and The Limited

I bought a gift card online. The gift card had $208 but I bought it for $164. I also a 20% discount coupon and they had a 40% off sale, then they had a lot of cool clearance item. I saved so much.
So you may want to go that route. I never pay retail for anything at the mall. Sometimes I end up saving 50-70% on brand new retail items.

Meh, you feel that way about every place within a 25 mile radius of Detroit.
