Just curious, what is it about Detroit that you find fascinating??? Granted, there's a lot of history here, but Gettysburg, PA has that too.

Really? Because you said in another post that these wonderful, endearing feelings were taught to you by dear old Grandma!

While I can't speak for him, Detroit is very fascinating. There's the history, the architecture, the music, the culture, and something we can all agree on, the sports. All of these things attract people from around the world.

I would not recommend Detroit. As stated in the forum it is a very racist city. Yes it does have its fun spots but you will constantly be looking over your shoulder. Another thing to mention the employment market is horrible.

They're not being attracted to move to Detroit. They MAY be attracted to read about it or visit it, but certainly not to LIVE in it

the city isn't bad at all, especially downtown. alot of great resturants and shopping districts, attractions. downtown detroit is very safe. new hotels are coming up evryhwree in the downtown area, along with lofts, casinos. I would recemmend you to visit, live there. if you do move there check out campus martius park, the river walk and the towering buildings.

highland park is a 95% black place, and very dangerous . if you ever went to the midtown, Downtown, corktown, mexicantown, poletown, hamtramck. those are all safe and nice places, so don't discourage her, because you lived in a place surronded by the detroit city limits. you never even lived there!
