So if all else fails, can a last resort actually be the answer?

Interesting video and company. I especially liked the self-defense lessons. I don't know if it will have much impact ("save Detroit") though. It is just another unnecessary-necessary expense of doing business or living in Detroit. Necessary because your safety depends on it; unnecessary because if you lived/worked anywhere else you would not need to spend money on the service.

When I was in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic a few years ago, I noticed the more wealthy residences had private security guards (carrying machine guns, no less). Clearly not something the average guy could afford but apparently necessary if you refuse to leave and can afford the added expense.

Part TWo talks about the Fire Weed Universe City movement and homesteading around the 7 Mile / Woodward area.

I don't understand why people think life in Detroit is one long action movie, with only the Chuck Norris contingent likely to come out alive. It's really not that way.

Tell that to all the people who have been victims of crime.

Crime in Detroit, while high, is a bit exaggerated. Happens with every big city...

3-6 shootings on average per day is not all exaggeration. Taking your trash out and getting "mugged" in your back yard is not all hype, and being a mayoral candiate and having your back door kicked in--PRICELESS...

It's a bit exaggerated until it happens to you.

I use to stay in the city and was actually robbed twice. I still love Detroit despite that and hope to be able to live downtown or close to it one day.

The time may never be better than it is today! Check out the area around 7 Mile and Woodward.
