I have ridden through Downtown Pontiac and along South Blvd several times. It is ugly, depressing, and in times downright scary. The armpit of beautiful Oakland County.

how about to go see a show there? at The Crofoot Ballroom. 1 S. Saginaw St. ...is that safe? will i get carjacked or someone break into my old car??

The city of Pontiac has spent the past decade or changing its downtown area to be an entertainment district. It's success tends to flow and ebb, but it's safe...Pontiac needs it to be safe or people won't come to spend time and money there.

I worked inside the Loop during the 1990's. After work on Thursdays and Fridays the office gang would walk to the local bars for a few hours (or longer). The Crofoot looks like it's right between a secured parking lot and the Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital. This area gets the young Oakland University crowd (or at least, it did in the late 90's).
