I've certainly seen a lot of photo collages of Detroit, but I don't think I've seen one from flying above it like this before. Really cool. I love the gardens and the big green open areas where ruins used to be.

Amazing pictures. It really provides good insight which areas should be preserved like downtown and some areas at the lake and which should be given back to nature like most of the remainder of Detroit.

Most of the remainder of Detroit is 2/3 occupied, I agree some areas are hit but the average neighborhood is 5-6k people per square mile. In fact, downtown doesn't even come close to being one of the most densely populated areas in the city. The 700k people have to live somewhere.

Ah, from your perch there in the Netherworld, what accounts for your great interest in using streetview to explore and bash Detroit? Because a sincere, adult, perspective from the outer fringes of the civilized world could possibly be beneficial, why not explain your purposeful "concern" about our town.
What town do you live in (I see no need to keep it secret), and would you be open to comparing our cities point by point? You can easily do this since you participate in all the other "how bad is Detroit" threads.
Perhaps in a pertinent thread you could explain how your town, on the world stage and in all its aspects, surpasses Detroit. This will be interesting - thanks.

I'm interested in urban decay, deindustrialization and over the top crime rates in general so your country serves me well, particularly because so many keep on insisting how it is 'the best' in everything, 'the richest', etc. Like I said before, noticing the decay by using streetview and suggesting Detroit should scale down isn't necessarily bashing, Detroit could actually improve when it would give back the dilapidated areas to nature.

I live near Groningen and we have urban decay here too, but not much. If the right opportunity would arise, I would be glad to post some pictures of that. I worked for some time in an office building that used to be an old abandoned energy plant, we face the same issues although on a smaller scale.

Don't expect that to pacify him. You clearly are an enemy since you have an opinion different from his. I don't suppose they have Fox News over there?
