Has Detroit fully made a comeback and gained population? (Redford: 2015, neighborhoods)

No, not yet. But it will.

Detroit's black population is still declining. However, the city's white population is growing. For whatever reason though, the hispanic population saw a drop which is unusual since that population has been growing for quite some time now. Overall though, it's a net loss in population for the whole city.

Detroit is MAKING a comeback. I'm still predicting a population loss for right now though but much slower than last decade.

I would expect the city to still how massive population loss in the next census. Gains in two neighborhoods won't be enough to offset ongoing flight from the other dozens of neighborhoods for the same ol' reasons.

But we'll see.

I am going to go out on the limb and project that the 2020 census will show AT LEAST 713,000 people, which is what was tallied in the last census. Whoever the Mayor is in 2020 just needs to put an all out effort in motivating people to be counted in the city.....like what has been done every decade, starting in 1980 but excluding 2010. Detroit is the type of city where many people live in the shadows...and if you do not motivate them to be counted and make them feel safe in being counted (they might be illegally squatting)....they will not be counted.

Assuming a city wide campaign to get people counted....2020 population 725,000....assuming no national economic collapse.

Its still on its way going up but not up yet. Could drop back down too, its on a steep curve
