True, I always do 35-45 mins from Troy - Farmington hills .

Today all roads were backed up - even the unpaved Halsted from Maple to 14 mile ( which is one of my secret roads)

M-5 (aka the Haggerty Connector) southbound is shutdown from Pontiac Trail to 696/275/96. It'll be repaved (or more accurately, concrete patching) over the next 3 to 4 weeks. Then the northbound side will be shut down and worked on for a similar length of time.

Surprising this wasn't bigger news. This kinda flew under the radar compared to other major freeway projects.

Southbound M-5 closed in Oakland Co.

Not a bad commute at all. Troy has fantastic schools - so the commute isn't worth uprooting the family. Milford schools are pretty mediocre.

South Lyon (Lyon Township includes New Hudson) schools are quite good though. Northville and Novi are aslo top notch. May be worth looking into someday assuming you stay there long term.

I took both roads- at noon, the drive through commerce road was awesome, and took me 45 min.

Returning at 4pm, it was an hour on M59, the major gridlocks getting on to I75 and then on.
