Back last spring there were articles in both the Free Press and News about plans to move it to somewhere around Eastern Market. At that time plans weren't finalized. Haven't heard anything about it since then:

Too bad Greenfield Village is run by incompetents. They should have moved the Grant house to there instead of all the paving, streetlights, Model Ts, relocating buildings within the Village, etc. A waste of money. It ruined the experience for me and was contradictory to the stated intentions of Henry Ford.

They should also have acquired the log cabin house in Detroit that went on the market recently: https://www.freep.com/story/news/col...hood/80866138/

...and the log house in Palmer Park: http://www.historicdetroit.org/build...t-palmer-park/

From the Detroit News today:

"Later this year, tentatively in August, the Julia and Ulysses S. Grant home will be moved to the corner of Orleans and Wilkins street . . . Sometime early next decade, the home will become a public education and resource center."
