Default commute time to dearborn?

I live in Rochester Hills and will be commuting to Dearborn...and need to be there around 830. Any idea of what the commute will be like or the best route to take? I was thinking 75 to 696 to Southfield.

Thanks!

40-50 min. My dad lives out there and I live in Dearborn, so I'm pretty familiar.

I used to commute from Royal Oak home to Dearborn office. I now commute from Royal Oak out to Auburn Hills.

The traffic on the Southfield Freeway is heavy during rush hour. There was usually an accident every other day that increased my normal commute time from 30 mintes to 45-60 minutes.

On my current commute, I'm headed in the opposite direction as everyone else; they going southbound on I-75 in the morning and northbound in the evening. I do see the traffic on the other side of the freeway. It's not stop and go, but it's definitely lower speed (45 mph?).

I've seen rush hour traffice on 696. I'm glad I haven't had to be in it.

I'm thinking that cardwellave's 40-50 minutes is optomistic for rush hour traffic.

Your best bet might be to leave for work at 7:00 am. That gives you 90 minutes to commute. If this leaves you arriving too early or too late then adjust departure time as required.

You also might want to consider taking I-75 South all the way down to I-96 West and then out to Dearborn. According to Google Maps its a shorter route (but traffic might be heavier during rush hour).

Yeah I agree. I haven't travelled it much during rush hour. My mom goes from here to Troy and it's up to 2 hours sometimes.

I'd stay away from I-75 and I-96 while the Gateway project is going on...and that means for at least the next year....75 to 94 maybe, but I wouldn't count on it...
