Has anyone heard of any other jokes on t.v. lately about Detroit?
I haven't watched TV in ages, but I remember once Hawkeye Pierce on M*A*S*H* describing their unit's foul and roach-infested mess tent as "the Detroit of germs." I think that was an anachronism BTW -- in the Fifties Detroit was an attactive boomtown, not the way people see it now.

I believe Miami is actually the crime capital of the country right now. Is D.C. still the murder capital? Does anyone know?

Yes, David Letterman had his little 10 comparison segments and he compared Detroit to Iraq. Not to mention that Kimmel and Leno constantly bash on us. That's why I only watch Craig Ferguson.

Besides, on older sitcoms, Detroit was seen as a beautiful city that people wanted to be associated with.

The last Scary Movie... "Here's Detroit....... <scream> <car crash> <building on fire> <police siren>" .... and here's Detroit after the attack..... <scream> <car crash> <building on fire> <police siren>."

I know there was another recent new release with a Detroit joke too, not recalling at the moment..
