Why Not Move To Detroit? The Hype Isn't True. (Grand Rapids: property taxes, motel)

Oh, I forgot to say that it is TRUE when people say Detroit looks better. That is that little 1% I spoke of. It used to be 1/2 %. There is some new development in the tiny downtown area. But the neighborhoods? Kwame has done nothing.

One of the women on the city council (Monica Conyers) got into a FIST FIGHT in a bar last year and two others wear full African clothing, including head-gear, 24/7. I'm sure that impresses all the international business investors they are trying to attract!! Go to the Detroit City Council website and watch their little videos! Aaaaaamazing!

Go watch videos people take of the neighborhoods and tell me if I am wrong.

To the white people who live inside Detroit, let me say this to both of you, I am worried for you. If Obama gets elected and somebody does a Lee Harvey Oswald on him...you better freakin hide in your basement for a few days. I'm serious, they will KILL you and burn your house.

Half the Detroiters ARE nice people, but the other half are SO BAD, it doesn't equal out.

Whites receive better education than whites? Once again I point out that blacks make it that way. I have worked in education and see it first hand. Blacks getting equal opportunity and they don't want it. They don't care about education, instead they go to school and fight, goof off, not do their work, etc. Education is not instilled in them as being important at home. It starts at home. Most white peope teach their kids that education is important and we expect them to do well. Black kids aren't expected to do well.

Blacks that live out in suburban area's recieve equal educations as whites , but not the blacks in the inner cities..there hardly any whites there.

My belief of why black kids don't care to do well in school and make something of themselves? Two main reasons among others....

1. Who they look up to - uneducated rappers and the like that can't speak decent English, don't have an education, etc. They make it "uncool" for blacks to be smart so many underachieve on purpose. Good black role models are out there but they choose to not look up to them.

You are about 85% right there my caucasian brother...Preach...Now how offen do you see any positive Black Role Models On The 6 O' Clock News.

2. Seventy percent, yes 70 percent, of black kids are born out of wedlock. Most don't have father's in their lives. Research shows that children that don't have father's active in their lives don't do as well as those that do. The prisons are filled with men that didn't have father's in their lives while growing up. Black women are left to try to raise all these hell-struck boys and they keep control of them.

Black people especially the women folk don't believe in abortions now if white folks didn't believe in abortions there would be a very large spike in the numbers of illegimate children born to white mothers too....

My comment about go see a game and get the hell out of Detroit is one that most white suburbanites think. It's not safe for white people to be walking around the city of Detroit at night. You have to get out... that's all there is too it. It's too dangerous.

It's not safe for Red and Yellow and Black and White and Beige and Brown People to be walking around Detroit at night , have a good night tonight.

Ever heard of Appalachia? This is the poorest part of the US. Poverty here is beyond what Detroit has ever seen.

I just love when people try to ague poverty = crime. Then I thow this little scenerio at them and leave them with their mouth dropped open.

We all know why Detroit is the waste of space it is.

If Blacks=Crime why is there hardly any Crime in rural Mississippi and rural Alabama isn't that pretty much the Black Equal Of The Appalachia Region.

I read over lots of other people's comments, and I didn't say one thing that is not being discussed all over the city (listen to the radio for example) every single day. All day.

How may I "be in more danger ...if I think as such?" Isn't it better to be REAL and see the city for what it is, rather than put on rose-colored glasses and PRETEND it's better than it is? I think it's sad that in most of the city a little old lady cannot take her little poodle out for a walk after dinner because it is too dangerous. That is sad, and nobody is doing anything about it except ignoring it (Kwame).

Is it because of all this "Kwame-gate" scandal that has everybody hyper-senstive right now. I didn't say anything untrue, and if you think that I did by pointing out truths like the fact the the Black Pastors are using the race issue for their benefit, go look at news and magazine articles saying the exact same thing. I'd like to know where separation of Church and State is? I have to say BLACK Pastors, because it IS the black pastors saying things like: (this is an EXACT QUOTE "The white people from the suburbs have no right trying to take over OUR city!" That is a direct quote. Did you see the signs on Ch 2 News that said "Cr**ker Keep Out!" Like I said, all you have to do is go and watch some videos of Detroit that aren't all nice and sanitized. The City of Detroit is the most anti-white city, maybe on earth. It's a fact, how can that be ignored? Why should it be censored? Kwame uses the race card all the time. He also uses his own Pastor to hide behind.

It happens to be a FACT that in much of Detroit, you will NEVER see a white woman walking alone. Never. But, you will on occasion see a black woman, but NOT at night. Just because I point that out, I should be censored!? for stating a fact? Don't you think if your daughter was thinking about moving here, she should know these things? In much of the city, if you see a woman walking alone, she is either a prostitute or an undercover police officer. That is a fact. And it's been that way for a long time. And Kwame has done nothing to change that, he is too busy chasing strange women all over. That's another fact. If you go and research everything i said, you will see, I am only stating facts.

As a matter of fact... 10 years ago my daughter was shopping for her 1st home. The real estate agent showed her several bargains"she could afford" in Detroit. We called another agent, she bought in Wyandotte.
My point is why take the low road and refer to the race card black vs white?
I'm fully aware the negative regard Detroit pastors have for 'outsiders'.
Both Kwame and CAY used that block of power to get elected. Alas, Dennis Archer is not Baptist, thus he was also an 'outsider'.
Cities such as Cleveland, NYC, Chicago, LA, SanFrancisco have elected mayors from a minority ethnic group, then elected mayors from other ethnic groups. It did not become mandatory to be a certain ethnic heritage to be elected from then on as it became in Detroit.
It took effort and hopefully careful choice of words. But I see no reason to mention the race card to make a point.
My opinion was 2 wrongs don't make a right. Or to avoid the "us vs. them" mentality, stooping to the same level.

lol..probably. I mean, whites may make up the minority, but I don't see a lot of "scared white women". They look like they know where they're going, they look like they belong. I have a car, I just don't feel any need to run to it in terror every time I do something downtown. Aside from a few homeless(very few compared to other cities)most people down there are going to the same events, restaurants or work that I am.
