Default Grosse Pointe Park condo development

Grosse Pointe Park sees condos as appealing to young buyers | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press
^^ From the Detroit Free Press

The story in the Detroit Free Press says that they are currently building new condos in Grosse Pointe Park. How does everyone else feel about this? Does it take the image of the Pointes as a upscale city with large mansions and estates and make it look like it is a place now for condos? I have mixed feelings about the project in a way, it is good becuase it gives young families a reason to move into Grosse Pointe Park and give an aging city a fresh new start. But in another way it changes the way that the Pointes were looked at. How do the residents feel about affordable housing in a city that is known for the wealthiest people of Metro Detroit?

I believe that they should not look into building up more in the Pointes but the ring around the Pointes such as the Jefferson East neighborhood (west of Alter Road) and areas north of Mack Ave. What are your thoughts on the this project and future developments as this one in any of the Pointes?
