Mayor's farewell speech
Now that he's finally leaving, what did you think of his speech tonight? I thought it was pretty tacky of him to dig at the governor the way he did.
So, Kwame's gone, Ella Bully's gone and McPhailure's gone. now..
FIRE MONICA CONYERS NEXT!!

After he took full responibility for his actions and then went on to blame the press and the governer for his problems, he then went on rave about himself. It actually sounded more like a re-election speech than a resignation. Of course, never once apologizing.

Khfar, I don't know you but I think I kinda love you.
I totally agree. We sat on the couch watching and couldn't believe (well actually we could) the things he was saying considering the position he's in.
That man is delusional and silly. His sense of entitlement is so papable, it grosses me out.

I'm really excited for the city of Detroit. Hopefully the city can really begin to focus on becoming a great city again. I think this resignation is a first step.

I just moved to Ohio a few weeks ago, so I haven't had the aid the of the local news to keep me up to date-- I sure miss Fox2 in the AM-- but heard of the guilty plea and all.
I was at a newcomers meeting last night and several "Ohioans" are former Michiganders, so we chatted a bit about Kwame. And TheBoysMom, you took the words right out of my mouth. He thinks that he is so entitled, he thinks that he deserves to be above the law and also common decency. What a slug.

^^ There's a lot more who are accountable for Detroit than Kwame. I'm glad he's gone but I've heard Detroit will do better now that ____ or Detroit will be better after ____ several times before.

Typical. The problem, however, is that the constituency that puts the likes of KK in office doesn't understand what personal responsibility sounds like. They think saying the words "I accept responsibility" means the person does accept... The dirtbags don't notice that in the rest of his cry session he's screaming "I don't know what responsible means and, therefore can't accept it."
Changing mayors in Detroit is like changing brake pads on bad discs-- The fix is only temporarily disguising the real problem.
