Default Chesterfield Township vs Macomb

What are your thoughts regarding getting a home in one of these areas...in terms of taxes, schools, etc? Both are in the Lanse Creuse School District. We are new to Michigan and will be here for a while so we are jumping on the boat while the deals are there.

Were will you be commuting? Both of the townships are getting to be pretty suburban. They used to be more exurban with hobby farms, etc. They are nice areas to live and raise a family, the only con that I can think of is the expressway distance, at least from Macomb. Chesterfield has I-94.

West end of Macomb can be the Utica school district, just FYI. Macomb is patrolled by the Sheriff's dept, while Chesterfield has its own PD (which is a plus, IMO).

I will be going to TACOM so I don't see much of a difference in the distance. Unfortunately, my husband will be going to Livonia so that will be a drive for sure.
