^^ I cannot pick out the year that above photo was taken but Detroit has changed alot since that picture was taken, in both bad and good ways:

>Tiger Stadium was still thriving
>The Stadium district was not yet developed (Comerica and Ford Field)
>MGM Grand Casino is the big parking lot in front of DTE
>No Greektown Hotel Tower
>Hudson's Building is still standing
>No Compuware building
>No One Kennedy Square building
>Ren Cen was not yet renovated (no GM logo on the hotel tower)
>The Book-Cadillac was empty
>Fort Shelby empty

It's amazing how empty the properties were around DTE were before the MGM Grand was built.

I don't have a picture to post , I'd have to do some digging in the family archives ! Here's probably the coolest site in the world thats all Detroit . I took part in the 2006 Detroit Memories Reunion in 2006 and what a blast ! We went to a Tigers game , walking tours of historic buildings , a dinner cruise on board the Detroit Princess , dances , met some celebs of the past such as Robin Seymour of CKLW radio (Swinging Time on TV) for anyone old enough to remember that . Sign up for a monthly newsletter , you'll love it !

Does anyone have a comparison shot to the one that was posted above with tiger stadium. Kind of a now and then of development?

Now that I re-examine the picture above, it was taken in 1992, because the One Detroit Center (Comerica Tower) is under construction, and all that's left is the crown.

I will try to find a current picture to post, finding one exactly like it will be hard though.

This is downtown in Fall of 1966, no Ren Cen, no real development, you can tell where the central core of downtown actually use to be (not the Ren Cen).
