Grand Blanc
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone lives in Grand Blanc or knows someone who does. We are looking to potentially relocate there. I heard its nice. I have driven through it a few times and it looks nice, but wanted to know what the people had to say about it. I know it borders up to Flint. outskirts of Flint, but still..
Anything you can help with. Schools, community, crime, taxes, etc.
Thanks.

My sister lives in Grand Blanc and likes it... but she moved there for a short commute and for the size of her lot... Flint is pretty terrible, so yeah, stay away from there... but she seems to love GB and the schools are pretty top notch.

I can help you. I went to Grand Blanc High. The community of Grand blanc is very nice however, watch out for the high property taxes : ) My parents still live there and as far as crime, you don't hear much about crime in that neck of the woods. Those Grand Blanc police are always on top of things, I know, I use to be their dispatcher. Grand Blanc area gets two thumbs up, way up.

I work in Grand Blanc, at the Genesys Athletic Club. It's a VERY nice neighborhood! Lotsa money, nice people, good parks, and of course the health club is awesome ;-)
It is close to Flint, but couldn't be more different. Feels like a different planet! You will have nothing to worry about in GB.
There actually are a few fun things to do in Flint so you might even want to venture in for the farmer's market (quite nice), skating at Rollhaven, and if you like to run you cannot miss the Crim! It's pretty easy to tell when you're in a shady part of Flint so just keep on drivin when you get that creepy feeling.

Hey there,
I live in Clarkston, which is 20 minutes south of GB. I drove through it recently and two things struck me about it: it is really quaint and very clean. Schools have a good rep also. You can live large for there. For $200kish you can buy you a NICE home with anywhere from .5 to an acre of land. I really think you will enjoy it. Good luck.

My boss is selling her GORGEOUS house in Grand Blanc (she has to move to Arizona) and can't seem to get any offers - she'll soon be dropping the price to $149K and it's in a really fancy neighborhood.
One thing I noticed about downtown (and all the way up Saginaw St) is that they seem to have an ordinance limiting what kinds of signage a business can have. Even the fast food places have pretty brick-framed signs, all close to the ground. So, it always looks nice, even at Wendy's!
