Default Visiting Detroit

I'm going to visit Detroit in a couple of weeks and I'm trying to plan my trip because I'll only be there a couple of days. I'm really interested in trying to walk through or drive through some of the neighborhoods I've read about on this site and elsewhere, specifically Corktown, Mexicantown, Indian Village and Boston-Edison. I know vaguely where these places are located, I'm pretty aware of their boundaries, etc, but I'd appreciate it if someone could advise me a good route to tour them. What's a nice street to walk down in Boston-Edison or Indian Village? What's the main commercial area of Mexicantown and what's your favorite restaurant there? What are the best things to do in Corktown? What are other good places for tourists (besides the obvious riverfront, downtown, art museum, etc)?

Anyone have any input on this? Thanks!
