Turbostate,
You're very selective in your quotes from the WHO and their opinion on electrical sensitivity.

Basically, all the WHO-sponsored research and conferences say there is NO scientific evidence that EMF causes the maladies that the afflicted claim. Yes, EHS is real -- but there is no evidence that it is caused by electrical fields or wireless networks of any kind.

"Considering the very low exposure levels and research results collected to date, there is no convincing scientific evidence that the weak RF signals from base stations and wireless networks cause adverse health effects."

For more, see: http://www.who.int/mediacentre/facts.../en/index.html

Please stop spreading psuedo science.

Currently I am director of a study on WiFi at the University of Michigan Medical Center. I have to agree with TurboState on this thread.

Preliminary results show some levels of DNA destruction and blood cell mitosis of damaged cells as a direct result of Wireless band stimulation. Our initial studies focused on rodents found direct DNA damage at less than 0.002m exposure levels. Early human testing shows a significant level of cellular destruction at levels below WiFi signal strengths depending on source distance.

The biggest problem anyone investigating this will find is that there aren't any conclusive studies that prove it is safe since the only aspect examined were the thermal degenerative properties. As a epidemiologist I can tell you there are far more factors involved with electromagnetic and frequency exposure than simple thermal degenderation. Evidence is entering the field now that suggests an entire generation of our children are opening themselves up to a significant cumulative health impact.

The evidence is there, the only decision at this point is whether or not one wants to wait the decade before it filters down to the common man and the dangers are publically disclosed after the damage has already been done. This is really no different than Tobacco, Thalidomide, or Asbestos, except in this case all evidence is saying the same thing - Wireless is a dangerous technology than is being used recklessly. It is being pushed out at a hurried pace exactly at the time significant health risk studies are entering their final stages or concluding. All of those studies are indicating the same thing and these results are most unfortunate for people.

I only wish I had went into Oncology as a primary, they'll be busy folks in the next decade plucking tumors out of the heads of chronic wireless exposed citizens.

Thanks for the support.

After all, it isn't anything knew that WiFi/WiMax can cause health issues. This was established as far back as the 1950's. Our own government studies showed ill-health can result from this technology dating back to the 1970's at power levels much less than even what we see today. (and I will gladly post links).

Now that Wireless Oakland is rolling out in our city, there have been immediate health ramifications observed.. I have also discovered dangerous saturation areas where 2, 3, 4 even 5 signals from separate antennas overlap. My theory on why there is a dangerous saturation hotspot at Whittier Elementary is that schools are usually surrounded by fields, parks, playgrounds and parking lots. WiFi isn't a very porous signal, and almost everything has an attenuating effect on the strength to some degree. These antenna systems used by Wireless Oakland are tuned specifically for penetration through homes in the neighborhood. However when resistance is not met, these antennas spread their signal much farther than intended resulting in an overlap.

In the case of Whittier Elemetary (see attached photo with antenna locations marked in RED), you can see parking lots, ball parks, and parks surrounding the school, which result in a very severe "Hotspot" exactly where the kids play during recess.

Which would account for children reporting "Sick" and having to go home around the time of their recess, and would also account for an increase in illness from students near windows facing the hotspot. When children come to the office and report "It feels like there is electricity flowing through my head." And nobody takes notice, what is going on here? Children are *NOT* supposed to have these types of symptoms!

Quite honestly, this would be easy to track. Simply correlate the amount of students reporting sick with the testing regime for Wireless Oakland at the saturation point. I can tell you with a great degree of certainty that when this system is online and testing on our street, my neighbors are experiencing ill health reactions and we aren't in an overlapping area. I can only imagine how much the children playing at Whittier park and Elementary School will suffer with the overlap, not to mention the homes in that direct area.

Lets be realistic here, what purpose would a slow wireless connect serve in the area? Anyone that wants internet already has it, and anyone thinking about getting it won't be happy with the poor performance of Wireless Oakland. Wireless is so full of security holes which any expert will confirm and demonstrate (to which I can demonstrate as well), that it makes little sense to saturate our neighborhoods and schools with this unproven, harmful technology that some European countries have already started to disable due to health concerns... I don't recall any voting, or a poll taken to see if people actually want this, but when people become aware of health impacts - and they will become aware of them -, I can assure you they won't want it.

Wireless Oakland officials are either complacent with this, or ignorant. Regardless of which, they will be held accountable when peoples health start degrading as a direct result of its implementation.

I have discovered a method to shield your home and family from potential health effects from WiFi. Everyone should do this.

First, grid your property outside yard with these, also placing 1 in the ground near each WiFi antenna will negate the radiation - they work! Gridding your property with 1 at each corner seems to cut out the EMF/EMR coming into your yard from Wireless Oakland. Cheap too!

Danger on the airwaves: Is the Wi-Fi revolution a health time bomb?

European governments - are adding their voices to the alarm as it becomes clear that the almost universal use of mobile phones may be storing up medical catastrophe for the future.

Professor Lawrie Challis, who heads the Government's official mobile safety research, this year said that the mobile could turn out to be "the cigarette of the 21st century".

Dr Gerd Oberfeld, Salzburg's head of environmental health and medicine, says that the Wi-Fi is "dangerous" to sensitive people and that "the number of people and the danger are both growing".
Well this is all quite alarming! Just to clarify and also display my ignorance on the subject, does this WIFI thing mean that purchasing monthly internet service will no longer be necessary? That basically if you have WIFI on your 'puter you can just turn it on anywhere within Oakland county and you will have internet access?

this 'smells' like a bunch of bulls**t to me...
no empirical science/studies showing support... just some one who is likely wearing a tinfoil hat posting something that they get all worked up about

Not likely. There are already confirmed health impacts from this system and a growing action group with many field experts involved. All I see rebutting it, is a bunch of people without ANY evidence saying its just a bunch of tinfoil hat folks.. Wheres your counter evidence?

Friends and Michigan Citizens:

The attached map shows the presence of radio frequency WiFi placements in Michigan. Several people have called indicating that they or family members became ill when the new WiFi was started in their neighborhood or home. Others have experienced the symptoms but did not know the cause of their illness. Some said the symptoms disappeared when they unplugged the DSL box in their home.

Symptoms experienced were: severe headache, nose bleeding, nausea, vertigo (dizziness), heart palpitations and pain in chest, pains in muscles and joints, severe allergic reactions.

If you have experienced such symptoms recently the surgeon general of Michigan invites your comments on her website: SOM - State of Michigan, you should send a letter stating your experience to:

Dr. Kimberley Dawn Wisdom, MD,
Surgeon General of Michigan
MDCH - Office of the Surgeon General
Capital View 7th Floor
201 Townsend
Lansing, MI 48913

Telephone: (517) 335-8011
E-Mail: SurgeonGeneral@michigan.gov

You might also ask her to recommend a doctor in your area who is familiar with the Electropathic Stress Syndrome and can diagnose and treat your illness. If none are given, you may contact: Dr. William Rea, M.D., Telephone: (214) 368-4142 or (214) 373-5161 in Dallas, TX.

there isn't a human subjects committee in the world that would approve any studies regarding dna changes in humans due to use of or exposure to anything - wireless networks included...
sorry this is bull**it

Nice try but the risks and dangers have already been proven - by the industries own experts!

Le Magazine August 2007 - Report: The Hidden Dangers Of Cell Phone Radiation

Quote:
The cell phone industry is fully aware of the dangers. In fact, enough scientific evidence exists that some companies’ service contracts prohibit suing the cell phone manufacturer or service provider, or joining a class action lawsuit. Still, the public is largely ignorant of the dangers.
Read up, learn. I have yet to see *ANY* counter evidence on your part, just a couple of one-liner no substance replies. Hardly worth a reply.

Radio waves are non ionizing, I wouldnt worry about it. The only thing it does is heat up the water in your cells if you're in the direct path of a high powered antenna
