Maybe it will kick the owner in the ass to develop it into something. With all this talk about trains and light rail springing up in SE Mich, they might as well have a train going there, no?

No. It makes good sense. Detroit really neads a few more empty lots filled with rubble. Besides, if someone comes along later and wants to do something with it and turn it into a landmark that will restore some of Detroit's charm, they can always just put it back.

It's not written in stone that they are going to demo it yet. They still need over $3 million dollars to do the job, and they don't have that money in their hands yet.

I agree, this money should be used for something else, not making another rubble pit.

This is one of the saddest buildings in Detroit. Once beautiful...

Just as a point of reference, this cost represents about 1/3 of what King Kwame cost the city to cover up his infidelities.
