Fiat may build Alfa Romeo 159 at Sterling Heights Assembly
I don't have any news articles to back this up, but I saw it on the news. This would mean very GOOD news for Sterling Heights and all of the people that work at the Chrysler Sterling Heights assembly plant.
I heard that Fiat execs are coming to Sterling Heights on Monday, May 4 to tour the plant to see if it is worthy to build Alfa Romeo's.
Now, only if Fiat could build cars in the Conner Ave plant and the Detroit Axle to save jobs in Detroit.
Which channel? This would be a fantastic move--I was actually thinking earlier that would be a good move for Fiat to utilize Chrysler's production facilities in NA for Fiats, Alfas, etc.
If that is the case, then this should be a plus for Michigan. The jobs that can be provided for people in Michigan. Another thing I thought of is transit. I would also hope that the potential factory can provide jobs for people all over the metro Detroit area. I know that some people don't have cars and could definitely use the employment.
Here's a Top Gear review of the car... interestingly, the build quality is considered an issue on these cars, much like the reputation Chrysler has had with their own...
