Get some real therapy istead of constantly unleashing your caged anger on Detroiters through an internet forum. I'm quite certain you wouldn't have the guts to stand on a street corner in Detroit and spout the same drivel. Why would someone with such disdain for a place even bother to begin with? Nothing better to do, that's why.......very sad.
I was born in Detroit (yes, at the old Mt. Carmel Mercy hospital WITHIN the city limits), and even though I don't live there now I am proud to say I'm from there, because I love Detroit and always will. Being only 4 hours up the road, I go to the city every chance I get, when I could easily afford to go other places. I am probably in Detroit more than many people who actually live in the metro area. I enjoy spending time there, period. I love the hotels, the architecture, the riverfront, the food, the sports, and much more. Sorry if that bothers you, and the.....uh, actually I'm not....scratch that last.
One other thing....even if they don't live within the city limits, people that live around them and either work or spend a good deal of time there on a consistent basis have every right to claim they are from there. That's how it is in every town I've ever lived in and the Detroit metro is no different. I don't know who died and made you lord of hometown claimage, and the, but it wasn't me, and I find your hate filled, arrogant rants to be nothing more than a perpetual JOKE.
Maybe he's just angry because he couldn't hack it in Detroit. You know, Detroiters are tougher than most and some just aren't tough enough.
Like I said, I paid my dues and did my part to a much greater extent than a lot of the cheerleaders around here. Hey, maybe if we say nice things about GM and express a bunch of pride because the GM headquarters is in Detroit, they'll be able to avoid bankruptcy....and Mexico!
Saying you're from Detroit when you don't live there as if that means anything is like saying you support GM with two Toyotas in the driveway.

Tough people pay their bills and take care of themselves and their families. Seems like we've been bailing out a whole lot of Detroiters lately....and will be for a loooong time.
Sure tell 'em you're from Detroit! ( You will be immediately detained and frisked for hard drugs and weapons as just being from Detroit is a prima facie case, as well as probable cause, for likely criminal activity Conyers v Ohio Dept of Public Safety 375 F2nd 212, 2005).

Anyway...getting back on topic. Even thought it's not in Michigan, I still enjoy a warm summer day at Cedar Point. Compared to Disneyland and other parks, it's actually priced quite well. I remember being from Michigan and even starting "friendly fueds" with Ohioans while there.
Thank you for sharing that video of the old channel 7 commercial! That was really neat...I remember singing a long with it as a kid!
I'll always have a fondness for Detroit. I wish things could be the way they used too...like walking down my Grandma's street in Detroit & going to Edgewater park. Sigh. Lot's of great memories here.
Sure. After my third move within the city, from a deteriorating neighborhood to one that wasn't as bad, I moved to the western Wayne suburbs. Next move will be west of the Mississippi. And you?
