Detroit Fischer St (houses, neighborhood, to live)

Just wondering whether anyone can give me some info about Fischer st - mainly as to its (un?)safety and general shape it´s in. Long time ago, my grandfather used to live at 9123 and I would like to look at the house (which I´ve never seen before) , possibly take some photos as well + walk a bit around the neighborhood. Sounds OK or should be rather avoided?

Avoid it.

A lot of the houses are gone. Many of them are abandoned. Some have been converted into liquor stores and crack houses. Just forget about it.

I went to Google Maps and put in the address and choose '' street view '' and toggled the N. E. S. and West button to get to the odd numbered houses on the other side of the street , and it looks like an empty lot . They do say addresses are approximate .
