Exclamation Property Damage+Illegal Fireworks

In Detroit, MI the July 4th holiday is a time for destructive adults to set off illegal fireworks, damaging newly painted and refurbished exteriors of homes in their neighborhoods. They also empty trash receptacles at school sites, load them up with incendiaries and cause further bllight in the city.

Nothing is done about this because when police are called the caller is told that there is an overload of calls and that a squad car will be sent out as soon as possible. Of course, a squad car never appears, and there are no consequences for any of this illegal behavior.

One of the problems is that law enforcement looks the other way when the largely Arabic and or White merchants sell these fireworks to the mostly Black Detroit population. The merchants are breaking the law, naturally, but they also suffer no consequences.

Anyone can sell and/or use any contraband any time, any place in Detroit, as long as the right people are paid off. This is why Detroit is such a horrible and dangerous place to live.
