Hamtramck: similar to the D?
Does Hamtramck suffer from the same problems that Detroit does?

Yeah, it's pretty much the same thing. Surrounded by Detroit. You might even leave Detroit, pass through Hamtramck, and reenter Detroit without realizing you were in a different city if you weren't paying attention.

Are you lost? Who was bashing Hamtramck here? I'll review the thread for you:
OP asked a question.
First response was that Hamtramck is less bad.
Second response was mine. And I stand by it. I don't see much difference between Hamtramck and Detroit, and in fact am not always aware when I leave one and enter the other. I for damn sure wasn't "bashing" either Detroit or Hamtramck. Metro Detroit is probably my favorite place in the world. I'm also not going to pretend that there aren't problems there.
BUT. I'm a recovering crack addict/heroin user. Wanna guess where it was easiest for me to get my drugs? That's right - Hamtramck. That's not a bash. Simply a fact. Hamtramck DOES have problems. Bury your head in the sand if you want, but I'm not going to. My first-hand experience is that there is not much in the way of real differences between Detroit and Hamtramck. And I love them both.

Ohhhhhhhhh.... I see now. You've been bombarding the forum with Hamtramck praise anywhere you can squeeze it in. Got it. You love Hamtramck.
While I wholeheartedly approve of promoting the city you live in when you love it and it gets a bad rap (my house is in south Warren - search for opinions of that area on these boards and you'll see that I do indeed feel your pain), don't you think if you're this bothered by it you might be better off just starting a pro-Hamtramck thread? Bumping all those other threads that have people's honest criticisms of your city seems counterproductive. You could just start a "Hamtramck is Heaven" thread and be done with it.

Yes, Hamtramck is very similar to Detroit. Many times when you are on I-75 going through Hamtramck you won't even catch the "Hamtramck City Limits" sign, you'll think your still in Detroit.
Hamtramck use to be a nicer area than it is today. It still has many great ethnic restaurants and bakeries, ranging from Polish to Arabic.
Hamtramck isn't as bad as some areas of Detroit, vacant lots and empty fields are not as common, but Hamtramck shares many of Detroit's auto problems.

Hamtramck is literally surrounded by Detroit. It's marginally better.
