If you're considering Dearborn, by the Levagood Park area, make sure you check out the park on a July or August Saturday afternoon.....The schools are not what they used to be. Take a walk through either of the three high schools at lunch time or between classes before you decide.

I live in Grosse Pointe and can say that it has everything that you are looking for. It is a very nice place to raise your children. You can send them to public schools with the knowledge that they are receiving top notch education. Also, depending on the location of your home, you can easily walk to the Village or the Hill. Lastly, I see a lot of 'For Rent' signs up for houses and duplexes. I am not sure of the pricing though.
