I actually have a very strong non addictive resistance to most medicines. I recently began taking medication for type 2 along with high bloos pressure, cholesterol. Id say I began almost a month ago when I noticed my feelings went from normal to feeling passive and sad to the point where im feeling depressed slightly.

I have had times in my life where I was sad when I was younger with bouts of depression but nothing like this before. I haven't been depressed or anything since until I began my medication.

If you have not gone back to your doctor do it immediately and tell them you need a different medication. Something needs to be adjusted immeidately. Don't wait for an appointment in a week or two, if necessary walk in and tell them you need to see the Doctor immediately.

YES, this is possible. Please do call your doctor's office and get in to see the doctor.

BP meds are notorious for this.

Your new NORMAL blood sugar could be the problem.

If your BS was running at , say, the 200's....and now you are down into the 100-120's...this change may be causing you problems.

Some people have high blood sugar, their body has adapted to those higher than normal levels.......a sudden drop to NORMAL may be problematic:

Relative Hypoglycemia Explained
Relative hypoglycemia is when blood sugar levels suddenly fall from a higher number to a lower number, but not falling below what is considered a “normal” level.

Look up the names of your meds online, and learn the side effects.

I was dx'd with diabetes (T2) in June and I have had some issues with the sads. I have mostly chalked it up to having my life now revolve around my blood sugar. I went from not taking a prescription med for almost 10 years to taking 6 meds, along with getting rid of my "feel good" carbs! Just recently I decided to go gluten free too. So I think the life style change has had a lot to do with my mood.

I found out I had T2D in April when the nurse practioner ran blood tests.
When you find out you have T2D you do become grieved. And then depressed. And angry. And Frustrated. And remember, this is a lifetime disease. Diseases never go away. They get controlled.
You're going to find that in the coming months and maybe even years you will go through this cycle continually- Denial, anger, sadness, bargaining, yes, bargaining and acceptance.
Hold on, its gonna be a bumpy road. Its no fun but you can choose to make the best of it.
I don't know what meds you're taking but depression most often brings on depression. Research has shown they tend to walk hand in hand.

Absolutely. I had this happen when I started taking statins. On advice of a friend, I stopped and experienced a wonderful change for the better.

Also, just the sudden need for so many meds you'd not been taking can upset you. Especially if you've been so content about not needing medicines. Suddenly needing them is scary.

As others have said, read up on side effects and talk with your doctor. Hopefully he is one who listens and considers both sides of a problem. Remember that medicines, while they can be very beneficial, really are foreign chemicals we are feeding our bodies. We need to watch them, know what they are and what they can do, both good and bad. You are responsible for your own health. Educate yourself.
