Yes. Look at the nutritional content and especially at the carbs.

Thank you. I took a look while at the store today. That's terrible! A friend suggested making just the filling but I suspect most of the problem is in the filling. Eggs, milk, sugar. Besides, the crust "makes" the pie.

So, something else for dessert Thursday. I'll think on it. Thanks.

Now here is the tricky part. Don't take that as you can't have any. Be smart. Read up on the Nutritional values and pay attention. Figure out your daily values and eat what you are allowed to eat. Being diabetic means that you have to find a happy medium and not over indulge with anything. If you eat enough veggies, you'll still gain weight. So you have to learn to eat a balanced diet and be careful of not only your carbs, but everything else. So be smart. Learn what is going on and eat what you can while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Simple as that. You can eat pumpkin pie, but you must know what and how much you can eat.

A neighbor and I will sample a slice and the rest is already in the deep freezer. Mrs. Smith makes very good pumpkin pies.

Eat a small piece on Thanksgiving, and don't fret about it. Take an extra walk.

Shall take the extra walk. We are finally warming up a bit. Had the "small piece" with neighbor yesterday. She bought the pie for me, despite my protests. So, we taste-tested it. Now she is off to family and I think I'll resist today.

Exactly. You can have that pumpkin pie, just a little bit. Then, walk it off. Gotta be smart in what you do.
