Anyone try this? I heard of someone losing 35 pounds in a 3 month period and improved BS numbers, but the side effects scared me off until I heard about the weight loss. I can't take Metformin nor the glucophage - I'm overly sensitive to both and have the "brittle" label coming my way once out of the "pre" label (or they are just putting me on it too soon?).

So now I am curious and looking for real experiences and not the canned commercial stories or the rumor mill results.

Anyone?

If you're female, there's a facebook group I heard about recently on another forum for female users of Invokana, apparently created to discuss the effects of excess glucose in the urine (yeast infections, UTI). If you search Invokana on facebook, you will find the group, and a couple of others.

I tried Metformin years ago and couldn't get too far away from the bathroom - gave me the runs like crazy. Many years later, I agreed to try it again - no problems. Don't know what changed.

Day 1 today on Invokana. Appetite way, way down. I went to the doctor due to sinus infection headaches. I have mild headache now, hard to tell if its sinus or low bs (just ate, so doubtful). However I did note somewhat stronger concentration. Will report back.

Okay, it must be about 2 weeks now (too lazy to click on calendar)....after a few days of adjusting my blood pressure meds (I cut my dose in half) and getting use to eating immediately (or very soon) after waking, I'm feeling pretty good. After about 5 days into it, I felt like someone flipped a light switch, the improvement was that great....but my euphoria has waned a bit.

But my appetite is still way down. Not having what I called air hunger......the need to eat, just to eat. That has faded quite a bit. Can't say all the way, because I did catch myself eating at my problem time (night). I have lost 4 or 5 pounds without any major diet changes.

The biggest issue I've had is low BS and getting "caught" without food. I'm working on that.

I've not experienced any of the issues on the warning label....not going to the bathroom any more than usual, or no noticeable difference. I have noticed there is a slight ph difference in my mouth, which is most likely Candidiasis, spicey foods are 10x more spicey, alcohol (both in mouthwash and drink) burn, but it's not so bad I won't eat my wings or use mouthwash.
