About a quarter of type 2 diabetics need insulin.

Some of the more expensive forms of insulin are used for convenience, and Walmart has some insulin products for about $25 per vial. Using those may be more difficult, but it should not be necessary for a diabetic to go without insulin due to price.

In addition, there are patient assistance programs for those without insurance.

There is no such thing as "reversing" diabetes.

Losing weight will not "reverse" T2 diabetes. It will slow the progression and may mean you can avoid medications for a longer time but the disease is progressive. If you are diagnosed with diabetes you will always be a diabetic.

I have heard of some cases where T2 has been reversed and it involves gastric bypass (bariatric) surgery.

Obviously not everybody that is overweight will have this type of surgery but for some it has happened.

It obviously has to do with the colon and the digestive system.

Apparently it is not all related to the pancreas, there are other mechanisms at play here.

I skimmed the article, but it seemed to me the main gist was diet, exercise and losing weight could help with Type 2? I think most people do know that.

As far as digestive enzymes, I have no idea if they help diabetes or not, but I know for a fact that they help ME digest many foods. There is a huge difference in my digestion/bowels when I don't take them. They are certainly cheap enough, and I have found one that I really like, and it is the most economical one I have ever used. I am always going to take enzymes.

Duh, that's not what it's about so I guess skimming will not suffice.

I can't copy and paste so I'll describe it in one sentence "spontaneous post surgical glycemic control which persists for years in some patients"

This happens immediately after the surgery and not later when the patient loses weight.

So if read the article you don't have to read much to get to that part. It is in on the first column of the actual article and not the web page.
