Lorsartan will make you pee more. Take it in the morning. Other BP medicines may do the same. I try to space out the pills. Stay off the starches, sugar, and other carbohydrate foods after 5pm.

Be very careful with statins and Tricor. Muscle wasting. Took me 3:years before I realized statins caused me SEVERE pain. I cannot take statins or Tricor at any dose, even 3 x a week at half of smallest dose.

My BG and A1C are OK but my triglycerides are 600 on medication, 1000-2000 on controlled starch diet, and +3000 on a normal 50% caloric American starch/carbo diet.

My husband managed to lower his triglycerides from very high like 300-400 to less than 100. He used to eat more carbs, now he eats much less.

^Haven't seen <500 triglyc in recorded history. I'm 5-6, 170, exercise and eat lots of vets and fruits. Gets expensive when one replaces proteins for carbs however this sometimes results in gout attacks.

Arbys has over 5000 mgs of salt for one meal. She sometimes eats Arbys twice a day. I will be cutting back on salt myself after finding out about this.

Your friend puts 12 packs of sugar in her coffee and eats sugary items. She eats high sodium fast food twice a day. I am assuming she has a weight problem. A trip to a nutritionist would be a good start. It won't solve her kidney problems, but she is destroying her health with the kind of non nutritious junk style of eating she is doing. And she is diabetic on top of that. My mother was diabetic. She would eat waffles coated with syrup and drink coke all day and tell me that the insulin takes care of that problem.

Maybe taking her to visit a church that has a senior group (bible study) would be helpful. It would promote some sort of meaning to her existence and give her a group of people that could be there for her and support her. A non nutritious diet cannot promote healthy brain and body function. I don't always think meds are the bottom line answer. My mom suffered from depression and was diabetic and refused to listen to sound nutritional advice but she loved her church group. When she ended up in a care facility they came to visit her and held birthday parties and special events for her.
