I used Splenda for years and finally figured out my extreme stomache aches were from it. Some would almost have me doubling over. I quit using it and about two months later my stomache eased up and I quit having pains. Havent had any like that for almost a year.

All artificial sweeteners--with the sole exception of Sweet n' Low (saccharine)--give me severe GI symptoms by exacerbating my IBS-D. I also find that I don't mind the flavor of the Sweet n' Low, whereas Splenda and others have a very noticeable taste.

I quit using "Splenda" when my doctor identified it as the cause on my stomach & colon distress.
I either don't use any sweetener or I use good old fashioned saccharine with no ill effects at all.
DH and I use artificial sweeteners - his for blood sugar, mine for weight control. I have been concerned about long term effects of using them - we pretty much quit using aspartame and we use Splenda in baking occasionally.
We switched over to Truvia for his coffee - it's made with Stevia, a plant, so it's completely natural but has no calories.

I agree. Stevia is safe for diabetics, but for some reason, doctors are quick to recommend this poison called Splenda instead.
