Well, THAT was a BAD idea! Just got home from "plastic surgery", ha, supposed to be one day in and out. Ended up DEAD, "bled out" EIGHT units of blood. They transferred me to trauma hospital 1 block away and saved my life. Went to ICU, heart floor, and regular floor, now home recuperating. Going to be long road ahead.

Pro tip: DO NOT get this surgery done!

Glad the worst is over and things are now looking up, was wondering how the surgery went, it's tough, so I heard. Feel better soon (I'm sure you will!)

oh my goodness...im sorry you whent through that and glad they manged to get you stable and back on your feet.
did they say WHY you began bleeding out, they Must have knicked some major blood vessel to loose that kind of blood so quickly unless you have a clotting disorder (which should have been checked for before hand)

id be playing hell with the surgeon and his team, id want answers and id want them now.
removal of skin is not a simple surgery and theres always risks involved but, those risks are usually bad reaction to anesthesia, heart issues, breathing...

bleeding out is not normal for plastic surgery as they shouldnt be fooling with any major blood vessels!
please do demand answers.

It HAD to be a nick on an artery. There isn't any other explanation for that much blood loss (8 units). The human body only has 10 or so to begin with.

The doctor tried to say it was due to the Lovenox the nurse gave me after surgery, but the nurse changed my sheet BEFORE giving me the shot and it was covered it blood. The nurse even remarked that there was too much blood. I thank God for that nurse, Nancy, that saved my life that night.

Of course the doctor isn't going to admit to doing wrong and I don't have a blood clotting disorder (have had several major surgeries in the past with no problems).

The original surgery was a six hour one so it probably was tough and then I bled out and died, and then I had a three hour surgery to repair whatever the surgeon messed up, so the whole thing was an ordeal. Thanks for your thoughts.

id be filing a report with your local dept of surgery ect. i agree, an artery nick and i think a formal report needs to go on record incase it ever happens again (whether you plan on taking further action or not)
