Default Veggie/Meat Ideas :/

I am a strict dieter. I only stick to a piece of fruit/boiled or fried egg for breakfast.

Shaved turkey for lunch

and usually a tuna or lean meat with broccoli for dinner.

I am so tired of tuna, broccoli, cauliflour (however that is spelled), peas and potatoes are too fattening for my interests.

Anyone have any other ideas for low carb/low starch veggies and lean meats?

I love salads, but if I cant have ranch with it...I become grossed out quickly.

I do not mind eating bland, I am just tired of the few options I have found.

I just posted in your other thread...I don't think you are eating enough calories which would imply one reason you won't be able to lose any real weight...if you are a woman, you need to eat at least 1200 calories a day..a man, at least 1500 or more.

more seafood! just nothing breaded and/or fried. There's all sorts of different options, so you won't get bored and the tastes will change. And keep up your avoidance of potatoes and also avoid rice and bread. You'd be hard pressed to get fat off peas, though.. A moderate amount of them won't have any negative impact on your body.

You're headed for disaster if you stick to a low carb/low fat routine. It's evident you're getting bored with it and you'll soon get to the point where you say to heck with it and give up. Go ahead and have the ranch on your salad.

I agree. Keep the low carb things you like and start to wean in some carb things you like slowly. Stir fry stuff is a easy way to wean in some higher carb veggies and have a bunch of different flavors to work with.

lean meat doesnt mean low fat diet. I tend to stick to lean meats - chicken, turkey, sometimes lean beef - but i eat plenty of fat - olive oil, nuts, fatty fish

OP eats tuna, it doesnt sound like they are trying to avoid all fat.

I would suggest many more fishes - I dont eat shelfish for religious reasons, but I suggest salmon, cod, artic char, all kinds of things.

For low fat animal protein other than fish, add chicken - with its gazillion possible preparations. And low fat cuts of beef shouldnt be a problem in moderation.

Im not a lowcarbie particularly - but I would think there are few vegetable (other than not really vegetables like potatoes) that would be a problem. There are SO many wonderful vegetables to try.

Make a pot of chili. It's easy to make, and there are plenty of recipes online. You can doctor it up with extra beans, extra veggies, make it spicier or milder, meat or meatless (use chicken or turkey or veggie crumbles instead of ground beef.)
