Guess I'll keep working on this--none of them looked thin.

Wow, that body gallery actually made me kind of sad. It shows how much of looking good depends on simply the body structure you were given and that can't be changed through diet or exercise.
My absolute ideal body would be something like this:
http://www.mybodygallery.com/img/16687/2.jpg
http://www.mybodygallery.com/img/12782/2.jpg

While my actual body type is closer to this:
http://www.mybodygallery.com/img/18847/2.jpg

There's just no changing the bone positioning to get that narrow torso look and the really smooth sleek lines - I'll always have a layer of fat on my bottom half no matter how skinny I get

And you can just tell there's no amount of weight loss or exercise that would make these body types look like the ones above:
http://www.mybodygallery.com/img/3272/3.jpg
http://www.mybodygallery.com/img/16787/1.jpg
http://www.mybodygallery.com/img/15063/1.jpg

It's not that these girls are fat or even skinny fat or out of shape - they've got muscle definition and such, it's just that it seems it really takes the right skeletal structure and proportions to have that really sexy perfect body, no amount of working out will drastically change that...

The crazy thing is neither do many of the 5'4 110lb ones
In fact many of the 150lb girls really don't look 40 lbs heavier than the 110 ones!

e.g., 150:

110:
http://www.mybodygallery.com/img/20717/1.jpg

wtf?? I know, muscle, bone density and all that, but seriously, that big of a difference with the 150 chick looking skinnier? craziness

OK, the first ads looked like magazine ad type girls and the second set of shots looked very good and what I'd like to look like. Also, the first shots showed girls who probably do bodybuilding. The second set--what you say you look like, look like what most of the rest of us would be perfectly happy to look like. And for that matter so do the girls in the third set. It could also be a matter of bad photography and angle. Look at it this way--all of these girls will look great in the right clothes and no man is going to stop in the middle of sex to critique their body so in over 99% of situations it won't matter at all. As for the beach? Well you'd still look great honey and so would the rest of them. You'll never appreciate what you have till you lose it and you're over 50 with your boobs hangin down. And the crazy thing is that at almost 53 I like my body better than I did at 23 and I certainly don't look any better--just that I've developed more appreciation for what I have left. I wonder if it follows that I'll feel even better about myself at 83? LOL.

The 150 lb lady looked to be in a lot better shape than the "thinner" one and it was a matter of clothes I noticed. The 110 lb lady was all boobs and her shirt did her no good at all. If you take away no other lesson from this it's that clothes really do make the woman. And that boobs don't weigh very much.

I work with a woman who is around 50 and 5'3" and very athletic. We got into a convo about weight once and she told me that she weighs 140 lbs and my teeth almost dropped out--she appears to be about 110-115. She's not big boned at all--maybe even small to medium and she has no fat anywhere that I can tell-- it's all muscle. I can best describe her as "trim."

It looks like she has more of a waist, and a longer torso. The 110 lb lady looked more straight up and down with a shorter wider torso.

This is why I decided to not really focus on what the scale says, and just focus on what my body says as I am losing some weight. I am the body type of with big muscular thighs (and arms). My thighs were big at age 8. There is no need to pretend I am going to have some willowy legs when I lose weight. So I am just focusing on muscle tone etc. And not super concerned with the scale. 130 on me = too skinny. I am just too muscular in the limbs. (I am 5 4.5'). I just hope I can keep as much waist definition as possible. I'd rather weigh more and have people think I am 30 pounds less than bothering with weighing 30 pounds less.

They always say you can't diet or exercise off your shape, just become a smaller firmer version of what you are.

I used to weigh 114 lbs in my 20's and 30's. I gained weight over the years, and then lost it. I am now 125 and fit and I wear the exact same size clothing I did when I was 114. In some cases even smaller.

I do know what you're saying because I have always had a funny shape--I have a very short waist and a barrel chest and have never worn a bikini in my life, even when I was thin. But I'm just trying to get the point across that make a big difference and some of those women in those pix are wearing very unflattering outfits and some are unflattering shots. There is quite a lot that people can do to make themselves look thinner by wearing clothes that fit--if their weight is unhealthy they can work on that but till then. . .

And, stop agonizing about your body--when you're older you'll realize what a waste of time that has been and esp when you agonize about things you can't change.

There's no way that person is 110. My wife is 5'4" 109lbs, and she is way way way thinner than that. not just boobs, but arms, legs, everything.
It might be 110 as pictured if the photo was taken on the moon!

110 looks different on everyone. That's really the point of the website. You can't tell how much someone weighs by looks alone. There is someone else out there that weighs 140 and looks like your wife.

There are bunch of people walking around with low fat percentage but they are in overweight/obese category. I don't go by BMI numbers at all. According to BMI chart, as a 5'4 female, I am suppose to be 135lbs. The problem is, last time I was 135lbs was when I was 18 and I looked anorexic and everyone kept asking me if I was sick. I never want to be that thin again.
I'm female, 35, 5'7 and 165ish. My BMI of 25 puts me just at the edge of overweight. When I was 16, I was 140 and everyone talked about how "skinny" I was, but even then I was right in the normal range. Even now, I don't look "fat" with clothes on, although I have some sagging and flab nude...kids'll do that to ya.

BMI is a guide, but not God. For men I think it's way off, as in, most men can weigh a lot more than what BMI suggests and still look good/be healthy, for women it's probably about right.
