People differ dramatically in their responses to coffee, so much so that studies like this are utterly useless to a person deciding whether to consume it.

I only drink 2 cups a day one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Whether or not it's good for me does not matter I need my morning cup of Java.

I'm a 4-6 cups every morning kind of woman. I live in the northwest...it's dark and rains a lot I need my coffee.

I love my coffee. 6 cups a day, every day is a lot of coffee, though. Even for me.

I wish everyone would eliminate caffeine for a week, just to see how much better they can feel. If you can manage to completely kick the habit, try a little bit 6 months later and see how crappy you feel. I had one yesterday morning because I didn't have a way to make my hot chocolate in this hotel and boy did I feel awful the rest of the day. The worst part was I couldn't sleep that night and that was at least 16 hour later.

^Not happening, because many people can tolerate caffeine much better than you can. I'll tell you what I couldn't tolerate in the morning: hot chocolate. I'd be grazing on sugary snacks all day.

I researched coffee on pubmed and for the most part coffee is good. One thing I found frustrating is the studies often look at coffee and whether you drink one cup black or one cup filled with a pound of sugar and milk it is still counted as a coffee drinker. I'd say a majority of the detriment of coffee is due to what else we put in with the coffee...

6 cups black in the morning.

It's good for me, and even BETTER for those who have to work with me in the morning.
