I just curious to see if anyone here is familiar with these centers? They are poping up in my area like crazy. Their website shows that they have some replacement meals and help schedule a lot fat/low carb meal plans. What I'm curious about is that they also offer B-12 injections. This is supposed to be a physician-driven plan and not sure if that would be a good practice for a physician to be injecting B-12 left and right. I don't have intentions of doing this plan, just concerned about this becoming a "mainstream" avenue.

Scams every one of them. Save your money. I cannot imagine any self respecting MD opening up one of these places. And any 'real' physician will tell you that B12 shots do zip, zilch, nada, nothing for people who are not deficient in B12 to begin with.

I don't know if they inject B12 or anything else, but they do unneccessary EKG (which you pay for, and which insurance doesn't cover because it's not medically necessary for the purpose of diagnostics). They also promote an 800-calorie diet, which is -dangerous- unless you're anorexic and just starting to learn how to eat again, or in certain cases, 2-3 days before surgery.

They provide a lot of unneccessary stuff, including expensive supplements and meal replacement powders and bars. Basically, they teach you how to substitute mundane, unimpressive dietary supplements and artificially compressed vitamin and mineral pills, for real actual food.

In other words, it's great if you're a mindless sheep looking for mommy to feed you, so that you don't have to feed yourself and take responsibility for your own physical health. If you are capable of cognizant thought, you have no need for PWLC.
