I wouldn't be too concerned about gaining weight especially at your age. I spent years trying to gain weight but I was a 6'4" guy who was into football and basketball. In my 50s, I finally realized I had to watch what I was eating and eliminate certain foods from my diet. I am right around a BMI of 25, but I would like to lose an inch or two in my waist.
Gaining 10 lbs. by June is not going to do anything for your appearance. My recommendations are as follow:
1. Eat healthy by watching fat and sugar consumption.
2. Eat a healthy breakfast and never go hungry during the day by making sure you always have something available.
3. Join a gym and hire a personal trainer. Explain to the trainer that you want to lift to gain weight. You will have trouble doing this on your own if you have never lifted before.
