"Summary:
Numerous clinical trials have shown HCG to be ineffectual in producing weight loss. HCG
injections can induce a slight increase in muscle mass in androgen-deficient males. The diet used
in the Simeons method provides a lower protein intake than is advisable in view of current
knowledge and practice. There are few medical literature reports favorable to the Simeons
method; the overwhelming majority of medical reports are critical of it. Physicians employing
either the HCG or the diet recommended by Simeons may expose themselves to criticism from
other physicians, from insurers, or from government bodies.
Conclusions:
It is the position of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians that:
1. The Simeons method for weight loss is not recommended.
2. The Simeons diet is not recommended.
3. The use of HCG for weight loss is not recommended."
The people I've known who have used HCG also went on an extreme weight loss plan. This is why they lost weight. Not because of the HCG. I'm thinking it was 500 calories per day. Who wouldn't lose weight on only 500 calories per day? People forget about the diet part of using some of these weight loss supplements. Then, they credit the supplement for causing the weight loss. Well, the pill didn't cause the weight loss, the drastically reduced caloric intake did the trick. The faulty, sneaky, manipulative reasoning really bugs me!! This type of manipulation needs to be tagged illegal. These products should not be allowed to combine with a diet, and then credit only the supplement as being the cause for the weight loss.
Once I signed up for a very expensive workout program - it was called Deep Tone - that was tagged as causing the body to trim up very nicely. Nothing was said at sign up about a "diet". When I went to my first class, they handed out information on the diet that was to accompany the exercise program. I was furious, but went ahead with the program anyway, but didn't diet. I didn't really lose any weight not did my body get any trimmer-looking. Yeah, I was duped
