116-person RCT: 8-hour time-restricted feeding in people with overweight/obesity doesn't significantly impact body weight, fat mass, or metabolic health. Surprising!

Diets don’t work, lifestyle changes are required to move people away from obesity.

What constitutes "metabolic health" however for me, IF doesn't do anything with regard to weight loss. No matter how much I fast.

I am currently doing 18/6, keto'ish.

My ability to digest/absorb dietary-fat on my current eating-plan is, without a doubt, much improved.

The high amount of fat that I was eating on 14/10 and 16/8, were causing a higher level of fat in my BMs, when compared to what I pass doing 18/6. My overall digestive-system handles the large amounts of fat that I eat, quite a bit better, with the shortened eating-window and the longer period of no food.

I don't know what you are talking about

It says

Quote:
Main Outcomes and Measures The primary outcome was weight loss. Secondary outcomes from the in-person cohort included changes in weight, fat mass, lean mass, fasting insulin, fasting glucose, hemoglobin A1c levels, estimated energy intake, total energy expenditure, and resting energy expenditure.
It doesn't tell you what actually happened? Over 12 weeks it is highly likely there will be no changes is these issues. 12 weeks is far too little time. But the study doesn't give any detail that is a red flag.
