I know conventional wisdom says 2 lbs per week but curious if others have lost more.

Decades ago, in my early 20s, I once lost 20 pounds in a month (4 weeks), from 225 lbs down to 205 lbs. That was the quickest I've ever lost weight, has never happened like that before or since...
At that time, started with a lot of weight to lose-- I was 100 lbs overweight (at just 5'2" and a female.) And after that initial weight loss, took me another 5 months to lose the next 30 lbs (for a total of 50 lbs lost in 6 months, got down to 175 lbs.) The remaining 50 lbs of extra weight took a lot longer to lose, lost that within the next year and a half, got down to 125 lbs, a total weight loss of 100 lbs within two years (and stayed at that weight for the next 3 years, the slimmest years of my life.)
It was highly unusual for me to lose weight that quickly (20 lbs in a month & then another 30 lbs lost within the next 5 months.) Most of my life, I've lost weight VERY slowly, even when 30 lbs or more overweight. Seems like I've always had a slow metabolism, more so since getting older, past my 40s. Even when trying to lose 30 - 35 lbs, I usually lose just one pound every two weeks. And now that I'm in my 50s and still trying to lose weight (dealing with an extra 20 lbs right now), I'm lucky to lose 2 lbs a month. It usually takes me at least 6 months to lose 10 lbs, kind of discouraging. (This is even w/ lots of exercise, I'm very active for my age w/ playing singles tennis 2 - 4 days a week, plus lots of walking to get places because no car/don't drive, I'm usually walking an average 1 hour per day.)
Maybe another reason for losing 20 lbs so quickly years ago (besides the fact that I was much younger and very obese) was that at that time, I had recently gained 30 lbs during the previous months-- rapidly gained weight is easier to lose??
Back then, I was already 70 lbs overweight when the university where I worked full-time started a low-cost all-you-can-eat lunchtime program for employees using the campus cafeteria!
So, of course, myself & a fellow fat employee went overboard on that for months!
But after gaining 30 pounds in just 6 months
, I felt so unhealthy, bloated & like I would have a heart attack in my early 20s (got out of breath just climbing a few stairs), that I made up my mind to stop the weight gain & lose those pounds!
Totally changed my daily eating at that point (even though it was wintertime in Upstate New York, usually a terrible time to start losing weight
) & NEVER went back to that cafeteria after that!!
Hey, writing all this about my success losing the pounds years ago when I was so extremely overweight has inspired me-- gonna be extra active & extra careful w/ my eating during the next week!!
