Dealing with losers while sober is less preferable then dealing with loosers while drunk.

Did you ask about alcohol?

I have been drinking lots of light beer, which could have been major contributor to this. We do not know what grains they use to make light beer, it is possible that those barley grains are more similar to high glucose corn syrup and less to do with 2 row pillsner barley. simply not drinking beer could reverse the condition.

It makes sense 2 different ways
Most people on low carb diets eat vegetables.

"Alcohol consumption as related to my original post can be interpenetrated 2 different ways based on my history with doctors." 2 previous doctors said that it was alcoholic fatty liver where alcohol is not allowed and this guy who is a specialist in diabetes and obesity is saying that "Obesity, fatty liver and diabetes travel together" so alcohol has less to do with it. All he is saying is that Alcohol like light beer is a carb and I should not have carbs.

What I am inferring is that drinking 2 barrels of "light" beer a weekend is what made me sick in the first place.

anyway, are you saying that an occasional potato is OK ? If you tell me that I can't have carbs, a baked potato is the carb I would miss the most.

I tried my hand at brewing beer, I really like beer. Beer is made from sugars found in barley. The genetically modified new age 4 row, 6 row and 8 row barley might not be good for you to begin with.

In other words, if over 30% of US are obese and obesity travels with fatty liver and diabetes the carbs that are causing this are not natural carbs that are shown on the food pyramid.

But yes, it is a big deal to stop drinking complexity, because I love it and my social life is there with it. It's not like quitting smoking where 2 weeks later I forgot I ever smoked. Probably switch from beer to tequila grog (beer mug, shot of tequila, fresh squeezed lemon, cold fresh seltzer).

No potatoes. I like beer also but I had to give it up for my health.

Did you visit the Atkins website that I posted above? It has great low carb information.

@Momma_bear
Thanks for reminding me about atkins. I was so pre-occupied trying to figure out how it got to this.

Need to take out my calculator (Excel) and figure out how far off I am already from phase 1.

as it turns out the veggies and fruit that I eat is 3 times the recommended carb intake for stage 1. Should I keep my diet ? I lost 7 lbs last month being the same month I quit smoking (people usually gain weight when they quit smoking).

I think you should go to the Atkins web site and learn all about low carb diets. However, I wouldn't change anything if what you are doing is working for you. Learn what you need to learn and tweak things as you go along.

Thanks, Atkinson is recommending a 30 g carb diet and I am doing well on 130 g.

Point being instead of going on a crazy diet like atkis, I went to see a doctor, you guys should do this stuff !
