That's why I try not to stay up too late. If I eat dinner at 7:30 and I'm up until 2:00 a.m., of course I'm going to get hungry. Think about it in reverse, If you eat breakfast at 7:30 a.m., of course you'll be starving for lunch at 2:00 p.m., right?

But if I do get hungry or feel like snacking, at maybe 11:00, I make sure whatever I eat does not come to more than 200 calories. That's a pretty big salad if I want something crunchy, or half a peanut-butter sandwich with only 1 tbsp peanut-butter if I want something smooth.

If I wake up hungry in the middle of the night, I know I'm not eating nearly enough during the day. If it keeps me awake, I will have a cup (cooked) of organic oatmeal and then read for a little while until I am sleepy again.

Only when I was pregnant. I would get up in the middle of the night and stand at the kitchen counter eating ice cream out of the carton.
