Hi new to the forum. Has anyone tried saxenda? This is month two for me. Month one I did lose my appetite but still was psychologically eating. Now I am trying to be mindful. Haven’t eaten all day except for oatmeal and some eggs in the morning. It’s 4:50 pm and still haven’t felt hungry. Anyone have any experience with this medicine?
I took it as a diabetes drug, Victoza, for several years. I lost my appetite. I also had digestive issues, frequent vomiting and diarrhea. I got to the point where everything I ate passed through undigested, and then I began to gain weight instead of losing it. I developed a bunch of serious food allergies that have made my life much more complicated. I think it's possible that my allergies developed because of the effects Victoza had on my body. I've been off of it for more than a year and haven't developed more allergies, but the ones I have are probably never going to go away.
I don't know the medicine but as far as I'm concerned the only way to take off weight is eliminating foods that are the "dangers" and pushing away from the table and moving. Drinking more water and for me it's protein, veggies and water and reduced carbs/sugars. I could eat about everything when I was much younger and I MOVED a lot in those days. Things have changed in my life.

Saxenda works by delaying gastric emptying, basically mimicking gastroparesis. It's fairly effective for many people if they can live with the side effects. When I took the lower-dose diabetes version of it, it felt like it severed the connection between my brain and my stomach. I was never hungry.
Eat less and move more works for someone who needs to lose 5 or 10 pounds. It's unlikely a doctor would prescribe Saxenda for someone in that situation.
