I have developed a bad habit of having a bowl of frosted mini wheats at or near bedtime. It keeps me full til breakfast since I have downsized my dinner portion size and the cold milk tastes good because I often have a hot flash around that time of night. But I know it's not good for me. Can anyone suggest a healthier alternative? I have an apple with some almond butter for breakfast and that wouldn't be incentive to get my butt up to get it anyway. It has to be something a little tasty.

Frosted Mini Wheats are right up there with the worst as far as cereals go.
If you must have cereal, Life is probably about the best you can do. Don't put sugar on it!
Oatmeal is a little better and will fill you up. Again, don't put sugar on it.
My wife has this problem, too... getting hungry at night.
I tell her to eat some cheese or a hard boiled egg. Hard boiled eggs are my go-to fill up.
Ah last night on my radio, Pharmacist Ben Fuchs was talking to George Noory and George mentioned a carb snack and Ben said "no"... consider a little protein snack. He explained it all but I didn't listen. I guess what I would do is keep some cooked chicken breasts in refrig and snack on a piece of chicken breast. Or some nice ham slices or even some swiss cheese slices. I snack all day, so don't eat close to bed as a rule.
During the day I often have apple slices with almond butter.
No cereal here not for years and no plans to bring them into my life.
If you're not a carb-hater then there's really nothing overly wrong with Frosted Mini-Wheats. It has 12 grams of sugar per serving. This is less than many types of yogurt that most people think is okay. It has a good amount of fiber. If it satisfies you and keeps you full, then I don't see the harm in it. Just keep it to one serving (which is pretty small actually) and it's a fine "treat."

Best answer - forego that snack. If you can't, how about a few chips with guacamole? Or a few pistachios?
My last meal for the day is at 10 am. I some get a little hungry, but it passes. I think - a little hunger is what losing weight feels like.

YOu don't eat after 10AM? Is that smart, sure not to me. My fasting is when I sleep and my last foods is about 6PM or so and nothing until next day at 9amish......so well over 13 hrs of fasting.
I love having raisins near bedtime when I'm looking for something sweet. However I've resorted to using individual boxes because if I eat directly from the larger container, I go a little crazy. Thus I can limit the damage to between 90-100 calories and make myself happy at the same time.
